South Mountain Community College is proud to announce that Daijon Smith has officially declared his intention to attend SMCC next fall and play basketball for Dan Nichols’ Cougars’ Men’s Basketball program this winter.
Men’s Basketball already knew it was in the playoffs Tuesday night as they had Sophomore Night at home against Central Arizona it was just whether it would be as the three or four seed. The Cougars would get some help as Chandler-Gilbert was defeated by Scottsdale.
South Mountain hosted Glendale Wednesday night looking for a win to challenge for the 3 seed in the ACCAC tournament. The Cougars would find themselves trailing 36-30 at the half. A better shooting performance in the second half and solid defense helped South come back and secure a win 67-63.
Men’s Basketball overcame a 5 point deficit Wednesday night at Scottsdale to beat the Artichokes 86-69.
Jacob Inclan lead the way with 23 points and 6 rebounds. Coleson Struhs had 12 points off the bench and Matt Morgan had 5 blocks.

Men’s Basketball traveled to Tohono in a conference match-up Saturday looking to start a new win streak after losing to Cochise on Wednesday. The Cougars trailed by five at the half but would rally in the second half to earn the victory 90-85.
