“BLUE OUT” Cougars fans, come support Men’s Basketball (14-3,7-2) on Wednesday January 17th as they host 1st place Phoenix College (12-5,8-1) at 730pm.
Men’s Basketball traveled to Tohono in a conference match-up Saturday looking to start a new win streak after losing to Cochise on Wednesday. The Cougars trailed by five at the half but would rally in the second half to earn the victory 90-85.
Men’s Basketball was back in action after two wins in the Phoenix Tournament over Regina 100-91 and Midland 82-75. Hosting Eastern Arizona Wednesday night the Cougars struggled out of the gate trailing at one time 18-2. South scrambled back to only be down 42-40 at the half.
Men’s Basketball stayed unbeaten Wednesday night at they beat Chandler-Gilbert 78-70. The Cougars trailed 36-32 at the half but shot better from the field in the second half and had stellar defense to earn the win against the Coyotes.
On December 8, 2017 South Mountain Community College will recognize Doug Ferguson, Athletics Director and Jake Harrington, Men’s Golf Head Coach as a member of the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference. This year represents the third class inducted into the ACCAC Hall of Fame.
Men’s Basketball took down Scottsdale Saturday afternoon by the score of 88-74. The Cougars lead most the way and stayed unbeaten in the ACCAC.
Bryan Battle scored 20 points, had 6 rebounds and 4 assists to pace the Cougars. Matt Morgan had 14 points and 10 rebounds.
