Freshman Raegene Womack earned Third-Team All-ACCAC and Second-Team All-Region D2 on the Women’s Basketball side. Womack averaged 13.3 points per game and 11.1 rebounds per game on the season to help the Cougars to a 7-17 record.
Men’s Basketball traveled to play Tohono O’odham on Wednesday night and would be in for a wild game. For two halfs and two overtimes South Mountain and Tohono O’odham would score the exact same amount of points going into the third overtime.
Men’s Basketball snapped a four game losing streak Wednesday night as they beat Glendale 98-94 in overtime. The Cougars trailed by 11 at the half but rallied back in the second half to force overtime and won by 4.
Desmond Johnson lead the way with 26 points, 12 assists and 8 rebounds.
South Mountain got the victory Saturday afternoon against Arizona Western 100-99 in OT. Arizona Western was leading the ACCAC going into to the game while South was at the bottom making it a huge upset for the injury struck Cougars.
