Volleyball opens conference play with sweep against Chandler-Gilbert.

South Mountain Volleyball traveled to Chandler-Gilbert Wednesday night to open conference play after starting the season 0-4 in the NMMI Invitational.

The Cougars would make quick work of the Coyotes winning in straight sets 25-14, 25-12, 25-15. Sophomore Jazmin Joerger lead the way with 11 kills, while Desiree Rodriguez had 10 kills and 7 digs. Carly Knight added 7 kills and Jolina Sadler had 30 assists. Oyuky Benitez lead the Cougars with 13 digs and Freshman Thalia Korecky had 7 service aces.

The Cougars move to (1-4,1-0) on the season and are next in action on Friday in the Roughrider Invitational hosted by Yavapai College.
