South Mountain trailed by 8 at the half 26-18 against Phoenix College on their home court Wednesday night during “BLUE OUT” night that saw the most fans attend a Women’s game in some time. The Cougars would have a huge third quarter taking a two point lead into the final quarter. A tight game with baskets made back and forth down the stretch took the Cougars and Bears in to overtime. The game could not be decided after one OT but in the second OT the Cougars ran away with it making some huge shots to pull away.
Kayla Clark lead the way scoring 30 points and had 18 rebounds. Haley Eaves made huge three’s in overtime to seal the victory as she hit five three pointers in the game to add 24 points for the Cougars. Raegene Womack had 12 rebounds and 7 blocks.
The Cougars improve to (8-7,5-5) and travel to play Central Arizona on Saturday at 2pm.
