South Mountain Women’s Basketball hosted Scottsdale Saturday night looking for their first conference victory. The first quarter would be low scoring with Scottsdale up 9-8. Going into the fourth quarter the Cougars held on to a 1 point lead 30-29. A tight game down the stretch saw the Cougars stay strong and earn the victory 44-39.
Kayla Clark paced the way for the Cougars with 15 points and 14 rebounds. Haley Eaves would add 12 points and Raegene Womack lead the Cougs with 17 rebounds. Paradise Warren had 6 assists.
South Mountain improves to (3-4,1-2) on the season and hosts Chandler-Gilbert next Wednesday at 530pm.
