Paws 4 Study Break
Time to Paws 4 Study Break at South Mountain Community Library
PHOENIX, Ariz, – April 20, 2016 – Back by popular demand! Join canine study buddies Maddy, Barney and Posey in the South Mountain Community Library (SMCL). The library hosts the event each semester to provide students with an opportunity to relax, de-stress and receive academic support in preparation for finals week.
Enjoy petting the pooches, eating healthy snacks, and coloring beautiful and intricate designs. Also use computers with free printing, and get last minute research help including citations. The therapeutic benefits of coloring compliment the positive effects of engaging with a canine companion. Both reduce anxiety, promoting a sense of focus and relaxation similar to meditation.
The canine study buddies and their handlers/owners are courtesy of the Paws 2 Read Foundation and are co-sponsored by the Phoenix Public Library (PPL). The Color to Calm program is also sponsored by PPL, “We supply the coloring pages, you bring your imagination.”
