STEM Academy for Bioscience Now Accepting Applications
PHOENIX, Ariz.– February 9, 2016 – South Mountain Community College (SMCC) offers a unique summer academy opportunity for students pursuing STEM degrees to earn college credits for free.
The STEM Academy for Bioscience prepares students for college success in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math fields. Focused on STEM fields, this summer program includes college success workshops on business etiquette, research presentation, as well as the grant writing and application process.
Additionally, students learn about scientific applications, laboratory techniques, and moral issues associated with Biotechnology while earning four college credits. Expand your career and college options, while getting paid to earn four college credits that meet general education Natural Science requirements at universities and colleges across the country.
Students will attend field trips to labs, and participate in industry mentorship and mentor meals. Lunch is provided.
This camp is for recent high school graduates (class of 2015) or high school students who have previously completed at least one college course are US Citizens or legal residents and have completed one year of high school biology.
Tuition is free for students who qualify for the stipend. Tuition for students that do not qualify for the stipend is $485.
