After you have learned the basics of using a computer, this is the first class that students interested in Web Development should take. In this fun class students focus on creating web sites using HTML and CSS. HTML and CSS are required skills for web developers. This online class is conducted exclusively via the Internet, and while you never have to come to campus, to support your learning; tutoring and computers are available for you at the SMCC campus. This section is part of our Web Development and Graphic Design Lab-Based Learning (LBL) class and includes the following courses: CIS133DA and CIS132. Students in this LBL class complete a variety of instructor-led hands-on labs, in addition to reading/studying the course materials, video tutorials, and outside-of-class assignments. This will be explained in full during the first class period. Students often take this class for personal interest, however this course is required for the following Degrees/Certificates offered at SMCC: + Web Development and Graphic Design + Web Design + Mobile Application Programming + Web App Development Courses in this Lab-Based Learning class are offered in the same classroom at the same time. This is the first class that all computer literate students interested in WEB Development should take. In this fun class students learn about internet technologies (especially WEB 2.0) with a focus on HTML. Students build their own web pages and make them available to the world. HTML is the code that is used to create web pages. Students need to know HTML in order to create or maintain professional web pages and to be employable in the industry. This class also introduces students to JAVAscript (NOT JAVA - which is a programming language) and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS).
Class 10174 is a Hybrid class requiring both internet and classroom activities. Access to internet and a student gmail address is required.
