Darren Lindner

Assistant Volleyball Coach

Bio

Darren Lindner is joining the 2014 Cougars as an assistant coach after taking a break from coaching for several years. His passion for volleyball started in 1991, as he transitioned from a weekend sand player to a student of the indoor game. In 1993 he brought his growing knowledge base to the Glendale Gauchos as an assistant coach while playing for Arizona State University. In his first year, the Gauchos received their first ever national tournament bid, with several more trips in the ensuing years. Along the way several of Darren’s athletes have received accolades at the tournament, regional, and national levels, as well as earning scholarship funding. Darren was Assistant Coach for the Gauchos for four years; Head Coach for Phoenix North Valley Juniors and Arizona Juniors for 12 years; and played in six U.S. Adult Open Championships, in addition to working camps and clinics for ASU, GCC, MCC, PC, SMCC, Xavier, and the Salvation Army. Darren brings experience in fundamental skills and mental acumen by placing emphasis on efficient movements and mental speed to keep up with a fast-paced game.
