Instructor Tatum is married and a mother of four wonderful children. She relocated to Phoenix, Arizona, from Brown Deer, Wisconsin, in June 2013.

Sonya has an extensive legal background in the private and public sector. She began her career in the private sector as a paralegal and then went to Milwaukee County, where she served as a paralegal for Milwaukee County Child Support Enforcement and the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office. She was later promoted to serve as a Judicial Assistant for a Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge, in the criminal, civil, family, and paternity divisions.

After serving as a judicial assistant for ten years, she was promoted to senior management, and served as an Assistant Administrator for the Juvenile Division, where she supervised 11 judicial assistants, and 39 additional court-staff employees.

Sonya received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Paralegal Studies and received her Master’s Degree in Business Administration, graduating with a 3.98 GPA.

Sonya loves the game of football!! She has a son who coached at various Division 1 Colleges and who has currently completed internships with the Green Bay Packers and the Denver Broncos!!!!
