Majoring in Engineering? Take Free Classes!

Are you planning to major in Engineering? Here is your chance to take courses FREE of charge!

SMCC has started an innovative new program to promote enrollment and success in Engineering courses. The program is open to all students enrolling for the first time in an Engineering course at SMCC.

Courses offered in Fall 2015 are:

ECE102: Engineering Analysis Tools and Techniques 2 Credits

Prerequisites: Two years of high school Algebra or MAT120.
Class #43408: Monday/Wednesday, 3 to 4:40 p.m., 8/24/15 – 12/18/15
Class #21108: Tuesday/Thursday, 11 a.m. – 12:40 p.m. 8/25/15 – 12/18/15
Initial Cost: $168, plus a $15 registration fee. (Tuition is based on in-county residency; non-county residents must pay additional fees, which are not reimbursed.)

ECE103: Engineering Problem Solving and Design 2 Credits

Prerequisites: ECE102 and (MAT151 or MAT187).
When: Days, times and dates TBA
Initial Cost: $168, plus a $15 registration fee. (Tuition is based on in-county residency; non-county residents must pay additional fees, which are not reimbursed.)

EEE202: Circuits and Devices (Lecture & Lab) 5 Credits

Prerequisites: ECE103, MAT276, and PHY131.
When: Days, times and dates TBA
Initial Cost: $420 plus a lab fee of $20, for a total cost of $440. (Tuition is based on in-county residency; non-county residents must pay additional fees, which are not reimbursed.)

Students must pay the tuition and lab fees at the time of registration.

At the midway point of the semester, students still enrolled in the course and earning a grade of C or better will receive reimbursement of 50% of their tuition and fees.

Students successfully completing the course with a grade of C or better will receive reimbursement of the second half of their tuition and fees when the semester ends. Interested students should enroll early; each course is limited to 24 students.
