SMCC Public Safety Lost and Found Procedure

SMCC is not responsible for lost, found, or damaged items belonging to students, staff, faculty and/or any other campus visitor.

Lost and found property is kept at the Public Safety Office, which is located in the Office Annex (OA) Building. If you lose property at the college, please check with Public Safety to see if the item has been found, at 602.243.8100 or campus extension x38100.

Note: Some college departments may keep lost and found items in their respective areas for a short time before sending them to Public Safety. Check with the department where you might have lost the item as well as Public Safety.

You can report lost items online by completing the following form: Lost Items Online Form. Online reporting allows SMCC Public Safety to process lost and found items more quickly.

If you have lost an item, complete the Lost Items Online Form, making sure to completely describe the item(s) lost (including, but not limited to, color, shape, name brand, amount, date, time and location of lost item).

You will receive a response to your inquiry within three (3) working days. You will be told if the item in question has been turned in or found. If or when the item is found, you will be asked to come to the Public Safety Office, show an ID, and describe the property.

Important: All items are held at the Public Safety Office for 60 days, pursuant to A.R.S. 12-941. After 60 days, all items will be donated to charitable organizations and/or SMCC Departments.
