Have a story to tell after the Summer!

South Mountain Community College is pleased to introduce innovate summer camps. The camps will target local students entering grades 7 –  9. Each camp will have a maximum of 18 students.

Benefits:

  • Exposure to a community college environment, familiarity with SMCC’s campus.
  • Demonstrate independence and confidence with interactions with peers and faculty.
  • Experience academic challenges to achieve personal and interpersonal growth.

Camp Requirements: Be enrolled in grades 7 – 9

Dates: June 3 – June 28 | Monday – Thursday, 8 AM – 12 PM

Location: SMCC Main Campus (NCC North Campus Complex)

Application Deadline: May 23, 2019

Cost: $25 per camp which includes Breakfast, Lunch, Swag Bag and T-shirt
(Payment will need to be paid in person at the SMCC Cashier’s Office)

Registration Steps

  • Complete the Google Form
  • Submit the signed documents
  • Pay with SMCC Cashiers’ in person

Once all steps are completed. A confirmation email will be sent.

Camp Sections

June 3 – 6

Dance • Let’s Dance! Explore and learn about the history and culture while working out and getting a boost to your endorphins!
Music • Make it the best summer ever! Let’s explore the art of music like making songs, producing, recording and making beats in an interactive and fun environment.

June 10 – 13

Biology • Enjoy a week of exploring various Life Sciences curriculum including Microbiology, Anatomy and Physiology, Biotechnology and Cellular Biology through some background information and daily hands-on wet labs to get insight into the work of a scientist in a STEM field.
Dance • Let’s Dance! Explore and learn about the history and culture while working out and getting a boost to your endorphins!

June 17 – 20

Engineering • Create an idea, do the design, build the dream, innovate for the future!
Math • Math is the universal language and compasses just about everything you do. Did you know that magicians, private detectives, artists, and just about every profession uses math? Join in the fun this summer while you investigate different math topics and discover the magic of mathematics. You will be incorporating math topics in ways that you have never experienced before.

June 24 – 27

Comics • Comic book films are required viewing! What your English class does with books, ours does with film: explore the deeper meaning behind your favorite films.
Engineering • Create an idea, do the design, build the dream, innovate for the future!
