The STEM PREP Academy (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math: Prepare, Retain, Excel, and Progress Bridge) is a chance to have fun and make friends with other students in your major while earning a stipend of $400, thanks to a generous grant by State Farm!
You’ll participate in workshops and classes that will help you get familiar with the campus and campus resources, have unique lab experiences while learning and increase the likelihood that you will successfully completing your science and math classes.
Students eligible to participate:
Students enrolled in a STEM pathway or the STEM field of interest
AND have not had BIO 181, CHM 151 or MAT 151
Taking part in the Academy includes:
Attending once/per week sessions from August through December
Attending at least two peer student group sessions
Attending at least two team-building activities
In the Academy you will:
Learn the skills that will help you succeed in your future STEM courses
Get a free lab coat, scientific calculator and snacks
