Be the Light of Life to a Student

You can play a powerful role in changing a student’s life by making a gift to South Mountain Community College. SMCC is the starting point for students on a journey to life-transforming education.

Now through December 31, 2022 we are asking you to be the Light of Life to students by donating to the STARS scholarship.

“Students Transformed to Achieving Radiant Success (STARS)” was the brainchild of faculty members Dr. Jerome Garrison and Lorraine Calbow, who decided to take initiative and create a student-directed scholarship fund. Nearly $500,000 has been pledged and contributed, including by SMCC faculty and staff. To date, more than 200 students have been awarded $100,000 in scholarships since the funds reached maturity. These principal funds will give in perpetuity.

By providing current and future students an opportunity to live their dream, we are providing light to their life, and they will someday provide a light to the life of our community, our state and our world!
