SMCC Behavioral Sciences Program Awarded $40,000 Grant for Students Studying Infant and Toddler Mental Health

Arizona Complete Health recently awarded the South Mountain Community College Behavioral Sciences program $40,000 to support students who are pursuing education and careers in infant/toddler mental health.

Students who enroll in SMCC’s Behavioral Health Science 275 course will have the opportunity to have their course fee paid, as well as receive a $75 book stipend and additional funding for applications toward the Infant Toddler Mental Health Coalition of Arizona Endorsement®.

The BHS 275 course is part of both the Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in Behavioral Sciences degree at SMCC, and also can be applied towards the Bachelor of Science (BS) in Behavioral Sciences degree.

Since launching in 2023, SMCC’s Bachelor of Science program has seen tremendous growth, with hundreds of students entering the degree pipeline. At its most recent annual graduation ceremony in the Spring of 2024, the college celebrated the first four graduates of the BS program, who walked the stage and received their diplomas.
