He served in the armed forces three times and was honorably discharged as a Captain from the U.S. Army Reserves in 2007. His accomplishments include starting his own business, which required a capital raise of $5 million. Ken was a co-founder of a for-profit two college system in the allied health sector. He was also a founding member of the accounting management team that launched the 20th California State University in San Marcos, California. Ken also served as an ad hoc education committee member for the State of Hawaii.

Ken has a successful history of building and driving assertive goals at both start-up and Fortune 500 companies. His executive experience covers a broad scope of educational accomplishments, influencing strategic and administrative agility in the areas of academics, community development, risk management, financial management, fiscal acuity, process re-engineering, collaborative leadership, and implementing innovative partnerships and programs to build and sustain a competitive advantage.

Ken most recently served as the Campus President of UEI College located in Phoenix, Arizona, which offers high-demand programs in trades and allied health. Ken has previously held leadership roles as Campus President of San Joaquin Valley College and Institutional President of Argosy University, Pacific Region, with campuses in Hawaii, American Samoa, and Guam.

He is passionate about volunteering in the community, public speaking, and educational endeavors that encourage students to pursue their educational dreams. He believes in disrupting the cycle of poverty by providing opportunities to individuals regardless of their socio-economic background.

“The opportunity to lead administrative services and align resources with SMCC’s strategic goals inspires me to contribute to a culture of excellence and community impact," said Ken.
