SMCC Student Natalyia Torres Named 2026 Coca-Cola Academic Team Scholar

South Mountain Community College student Natalyia Torres has been named a member of the 2026 Coca-Cola Academic Team. She will receive a $1,300 scholarship along with a commemorative medallion for this honor.

The Coca-Cola Academic Team program is sponsored by the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation and is administered by Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. The award recognizes high-achieving students and is based on academic achievement, leadership and engagement in college and community service.

Natalyia is currently pursuing an associate degree in psychology and education at SMCC. She has been a part of the Phi Theta Kappa chapter at SMCC for the last year, where she has achieved academic success and shown leadership in her role as vice president of scholarship.

“Natalyia’s recognition further demonstrates the strong academic talent within SMCC’s Phi Theta Kappa chapter and the continued success of our students at the national level,” said Dr. L. Andrea Brownlee, SMCC’s PTK advisor.

As a Coca-Cola Academic Team member, Natalyia will be recognized in both local and statewide ceremonies and will be further honored during PTK’s annual convention, PTK Catalyst, in Baltimore, Maryland on March 26-28.
