Giving to SMCC

American Indian Student Fund
We’re dedicated to providing American Indian students access to a quality education, while still preserving their culture and celebrating their heritage.

Athletics
Go Cougars! The South Mountain Community College Athletics department fosters strong character and opportunities through academic, athletic, personal, and community development with a focus on transferring to four-year institutions.

Bilingual Nursing Program Scholarship
The healthcare industry is growing each day and there is a high demand for qualified bilingual nurses. Being bilingual is critical in this industry as it helps cross-cultural barriers and to build trusting relationships in clinical settings.

Construction Trades Institute Fund
The population in Phoenix is expected to double by 2030, and construction is in huge demand! This fund provides scholarships and program support for our construction trades program.

Greatest Needs Fund
This is our most flexible fund, allowing us to address a variety of needs as they arise.

Performing Arts Scholarship
For creative thinkers in the SMCC Visual and Performing Arts program who like to communicate ideas through visual art, design, dance, music, or theatre.

STARS (Students Transformed to Achieve Radiant Success)
Driven by the high student loan default rate and a lack of scholarship opportunities available for students, SMCC faculty and staff created this endowed fund as a perpetual source of scholarship funding support.

Storytelling Endowment Scholarship
Using stories makes your messages memorable, gives your audience something to relate to, and captures their attention, motivating and inspiring them in new ways. This scholarship supports students in the SMCC Storytelling Institute.

Student Mental Health Support Fund
This fund provides program support and scholarships for students in the Behavior Health Sciences program.

Verna McClain Student Emergency Fund
Sometimes the most critical needs are the most basic, like books and supplies for course work, technology, or even a meal or a tank of gas to get to class.
Giving to SMCC

Employee Giving
As an SMCC employee, you know firsthand how much our students need a little extra support. Your gifts to our employee giving campaign stay on our campus, helping our students with scholarships and support services. And, by the way, no gift is too small to make a difference – but you can make a larger gift over time by choosing the payroll withdrawal option.

Events
Join us for two of SMCC’s annual FUNdraisers! You’ll have a great time as you help us help us raise money for our Students Transformed to Achieve Radiant Success (STARS) endowed scholarship program.

Legacy Gifts

We are ready to help you choose the planned giving option that best meets your financial, tax, and estate planning goals. This could range from remembering SMCC in your will or trust to creating an endowed fund to assist students during your lifetime.
