You are eligible for this program if you are currently enrolled for credit in at least one qualifying spring or fall semester CIS course (any course with prefix CNT, CSC, ITS, or MST or any 3 or more credit course with a prefix of BPC or CIS) or MSE course (any course with prefix ECE or EEE or a course listed in the table below).

Course Prefix/Number

  • BIO: ≥ 180
  • CHM ≥ 150
  • MAT ≥ 150
  • PHY ≥ 120

This program allows eligible students to obtain certain Microsoft software for use on their personal computer at greatly reduced cost (or free). To login to the OnTheHub store for the Maricopa Click Here.

  • Available software includes Windows operating systems, Visio, Visual Studio, Access, etc.
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.) is specifically not included.

(This program was formerly called Microsoft DreamSpark Premium.)

Software obtained through this program may be used exclusively for academic instruction, academic projects, and non-commercial research only.

When you are no longer enrolled in at least one qualifying course, you can no longer receive software through this program. However, any software that you received while you were eligible remains yours to use. The license restriction to academic use only remains in effect.

Your username for this program will be YourMEID@maricopa.edu and all correspondence regarding the program will be sent to that email address.

During the 3rd week of the spring or fall semester, all eligible students will be registered with ELMS (e-academy License Management System) which manages software distribution for this program. You will receive an email from ELMS at your maricopa.edu email address. This email is important because it contains your login instructions.

When you login to the site, you will be able to choose the software you want to receive and the delivery method. It is your responsibility to ensure that your system meets the system requirements of the software you choose. Depending on the software chosen, you will be able to choose between one or more of the following:

  • Media Purchase: For a small fee, the CDs or DVDs are shipped to your home.
  • Secure Download: A broadband connection is recommended for this choice. You also may need to be able to burn an ISO image file to a CD or DVD.

It is important that you complete the “purchase” process (even if you have chosen a free delivery method). This ensures that you accept the license agreement and receive any product keys that are needed to install and activate the software.

If you have any questions, please contact the SMCC Program Administrator Tim Budworth at tim.budworth@southmountaincc.edu or 602-243-8050.
