Chemistry

Are you interested in a career in scientific research, or a career in health based-professions like doctors, dentists, or pharmacists? Do you want to design novel drugs  or stand on the cutting-edge of energy technology?

At a basic level, the study of chemistry and biochemistry is the study of stuff and all its various interactions. In your journey through chemistry, you’ll interact with the fundamental laws and theories that govern the molecular universe. You’ll learn how these theories explain the diversity of living things and influence the various modes of energy exchange. You’ll utilize technology to conduct experiments and collect, analyze and communicate data with the broader community and apply the scientific method to investigate fundamental questions regarding natural phenomena.

Chemists are needed in all sectors, public and private, and they command high salaries. The median salary in the United States for all chemists is $101,784 with Ph.D's making six-figure incomes.
