Bridging Success

Bridging Success

Every year, about 800 children in Arizona age out of foster care. To support young adults, Maricopa Community Colleges, in partnership with the Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust, created the Bridging Success Program, which offers educational opportunities to help them transition to adulthood.

Program Focuses

  • Connecting students to college and community resources, including funding to pursue post-secondary opportunities
  • Assisting students in overcoming obstacles by connecting them to mentoring, tutoring, and coaching resources
  • Providing academic and workforce opportunities (short-term training, employment opportunities, major selection, etc.)

How We Connect You With a Champion

  • First express interest in being a part of Bridging Success
  • Then you will be connected to a champion by your FOI (field of interest)
  • You will then have to meet at least twice per semester

What is a Champion?

Trained staff and faculty at South Mountain Community College, who are aware of the challenges aging out of foster care may pose.
They are committed to helping students take the next step in their education and advocating for their success.

Your champion is here, ready to provide support. Reach out to them about goal setting, exploring career interests, navigating
academic and personal challenges, and financial aid.
